We all want to look in the mirror and like what we see. For those of us who experience hair loss, it starts slowly and gradually becomes more of a distraction and presents issues when we try and style our hair to make it look presentable. Each passing month and year offers new challenges and eventually for some of us there is very little if any hair in the front to style.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Over time with continued hair loss the mirror becomes a reminder that we just don\u2019t feel as good about our appearance anymore and certain things in our life may start to suffer as a result of our lowered self-esteem. For some of us there comes a point in time when we\u2019ve had enough and we would like to seek solutions for this problem. In the case of this Vancouver area patient he was fortunate enough to have the answer right in his backyard so he decided pay a visit to Hasson and Wong.<\/p>

As is the case with many patients, a full head of hair was the ultimate goal. For some this is possible, for others expectations need to be slightly or substantially tempered. When Dr. Hasson evaluated this stage 6 patient he determined his donor hair was sufficient enough to provide reasonably good coverage to the considerable amount of balding scalp. It was explained that with this large area to cover in mind, this would be a two-stage process.<\/p>

The first session would rebuild a new hairline, restore the frontal zone and mid scalp working to the front of the crown. This would provide a significant cosmetic benefit by re framing the face and therefore take many years off of his appearance. Dr Hasson and team accomplished this goal using 5474 grafts obtained using the FUT method of extraction. For stage 6\u2019s or 7\u2019s on the Norwood scale who have a considerable amount of area to cover, FUT is usually the preferred method for it\u2019s ability to provide a few more grafts in total over FUE.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A second procedure, if desired, would complete the coverage by restoring the crown. For the second procedure, it\u2019s likely either an FUT or FUE option would be possible. You can see in these photos the hairline design suits the patient well and the predictable transformation is quite impressive. It also goes without saying that the patient was very happy with the result and positive affect it has had on his self-worth.<\/p>

This is just another good example of what a hair transplant can do for one\u2019s appearance and how they feel about themselves. These are essentially two totally different people. One being the balding aging man unhappy with his appearance before the procedure, the other being a more youthful and confident handsome looking man after.
